Memberships are all processed by IIDA Headquarters, not the Southwest Chapter. IIDA Memberships run on the calendar year, January through December. All dues and pricing are subject to change by IIDA Headquarters.
Membership Types
There are six IIDA Membership types to choose from. Explore which Membership is best for you!

The IIDA Professional Membership is for practicing interior designers who have passed the NCIDQ or architects who have passed the ARE, with alternative pathways available for those with substantial experience and supporting recommendations. Members receive industry recognition, professional development, publications, advocacy resources, networking opportunities, mentorship, discounts, and leadership opportunities. Annual dues are $599 or $55 monthly, with a one-time $75 processing fee for new or reactivated members.

IIDA Associate Membership is for interior designers who have completed at least two years of formal design education and are not yet NCIDQ- or ARE-certified. Members gain access to professional development, networking, industry recognition opportunities, career resources, and exclusive discounts. Annual dues range from $346 to $599 (or $35 to $55 monthly) depending on years of membership, plus a one-time $75 processing fee for new or reactivated members.

The IIDA Industry Individual Membership is for professionals who support the interior design industry such as product designers, manufacturers, photographers, lighting designers, and other specialists who do not practice interior design themselves. Members gain access to global industry connections, professional development, exclusive resources, events, publications, and the recognized IIDA appellation. The membership costs $599 annually or $55 monthly, plus a one time $75 processing fee for new or reinstating members.

The IIDA Educator Membership is for full-time or adjunct interior design educators, department chairs, and instructors who meet the qualifications for IIDA Professional or Associate membership. Members gain credibility, access to research and publications, professional development, advocacy resources, mentorship opportunities, industry connections, special events, and exclusive discounts. Annual dues are $346 for Educator Professional and $303 for Educator Associate, with optional monthly payments of $35 and $30 respectively plus a one-time $75 processing fee for new or reactivated memberships.

The IIDA Student Membership is for students currently enrolled in interior design, architecture, or related programs who want to develop professionally and expand their network in the design industry. Members gain access to mentoring, campus centers, newsletters, competitions, scholarships, leadership roles, publications, and other professional development resources. The annual cost of student membership is $60.

The IIDA Industry Corporate Membership is for companies that design or distribute products or services used by commercial interior designers and want to connect and collaborate with design leaders to expand their reach and influence. Member companies gain brand visibility, access to events and competitions, the prestige of the IIDA appellation, and valuable networking with designers worldwide, with added perks like a waived first-year IDCEC CEU Provider registration. Annual dues range from $1,710 for 3 representatives to $32,387 for 60 representatives, plus a one time $150 processing fee, with larger custom plans available upon request.

The Membership Edge
The Membership Edge is an opportunity for firms to grow their member engagement with IIDA, with the benefit of receiving unique codes to reduce the cost of membership for new members. This is a three-tier program with reduced rates based on the number of IIDA members currently engaged.
