Position Overview:
We are an independent sales rep agency, backed by a non-stocking Distributor business, seeking persons looking for a long-term, professional account manager position at a company with strong moral values, that prioritizes a positive balance for work/life, physical and emotional well-being with a passion for amplifying the global sustainability movement. This is a remote work, hybrid position backed by a full support team to keep you focused on developing and maintaining your professional network relationships, while brand building on behalf of our companies and the manufacturing partners we represent.
Required Education, Skills & Abilities:
10+ years of professional account manager experience, with a strong working knowledge of ceramic tile, resilient surface materials, installation sundries and installation methods plus a solid, professional network and a successful, existing book of business.
Concise, organized verbal and written communication skills with a calm, resilient and upbeat
professional demeanor.The ability to excel while multi-tasking and adjusting schedules as needed on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
Ability to navigate and fully comprehend professional, construction document sets.
Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Construction Management university program.
Strong construction administration experience targeted to problem-solving installation issues on job sites or other maintenance-issue related site visits.
Must be self-motivated and well disciplined for all aspects of this position requiring independence,
balanced with a personality that thrives in a virtual team environment.Applicant must be fluent across a full range of Mac devices and the following basic software programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Dropbox.
Key Responsibilities:
DAILY/WEEKLY ACTIONS
Meet with clients virtually and in person to educate them about Surface Resources' manufacturing partner brands and collections.
Networking and marketing to commercial sales channels including: Architects and Designers, Dealers – to include flooring/tile contractors, Design Build firms, Developers, and End Users
Active participation in national trade organizations to include committee and/ or board positions. If not serving on the board or committees, regular attendance for events hosted by these organizations is required.
Gather details for upcoming projects that will be happening in your market and qualify sales opportunities in your territory - follow up through email, in-person interactions, or text messaging to move each opportunity through the sales pipeline.
Provide excellent customer service to all clients through email communications, in person and virtual meetings.
Answer all communications (phone calls, texts, emails) in a timely manner.
Communicate on a regular, active basis with all SR team members.
Forward sample orders to SR Sample Desk unless it is for a reference library – If sample is for a library, fulfill sample request and cc the sample desk.
Forward Quote requests for all projects to the SR Fulfillment Desk.
Update your contact database regularly as your network develops and connect with them on LinkedIn and other social media channels. Request new contact's permission to add them to the SR weekly flyer list.
Scheduling, preparation, execution, and removal of SR tabletop presentations and accredited CEU
courses.Ordering, receiving, unpacking, organizing and replenishing SR sales tools as needed.
PERIODIC & ANNUAL ACTIONS
Full active participation in monthly SR sales team pipeline meeting to review and update all sales
pipeline workbooks.Attend or exhibit at local, regional, and national tradeshows as determined on an annual basis in
coordination with SR management.Annual and monthly Sales Forecasting required.
Collaborate with Sales Managers from our manufacturing partners for training, in-person sales calls and CEU course presentations.
Plan and budget SR marketing events for the upcoming year.
Collaborate with SR sales team to update and organize, per existing orderly fashion, marketing contents in the SR Sales Team Dropbox folders.
Update Sales contacts at the end of each year.
